Diahann
Carroll
Here is a collection of eighteen great songs from the legendary and versatile Diahann Carroll, famous for her appearances in the Broadway musicals "House of Flowers" and "No Strings", her long-running tenure in the iconic TV series "Dynasty" and "Julia", and many hugely successful record albums.
These recordings, made in the mid-fifties, date from the early days of the performer's long career, when she had just come to the American public's attention with her Broadway debut. Not only does the collection offer all the songs from her first album "Diahann Carroll Sings Harold Arlen Songs", but also her very first singles, recorded previously, and which have never been on CD before. These include the classic "I Didn't Know What Time it Was" and the haunting "I Went to the Village". All the titles have been most sensitively digitally restored.
