Edwards
Joan Edwards was one of the finest singers of the Big Band era. And as is well known, her talents also embraced her brilliant skills as a pianist and composer. In this Flare release she is heard in several of her early recordings with the orchestra of the great Paul Whiteman, all of her recordings for Vogue, and several recordings featuring classic songs where she accompanies herself at the piano. Her fine duets with Clark Dennis and Johnnie Johnston are included, and two fine songs for which she composed the music. Her talent, her style and her wit are evident throughout.
