Gogi
Grant
Gogi Grant, one of the finest singers to arrive in the fifties, came to prominence with hits such as The Wayward Wind. ……. Perhaps, however, her metier was as a ballad singer - for that is certainly how she gained lasting fame. When she supplied the voice of Helen Morgan for the film The Helen Morgan Story she found many more admirers. Following the high sales of her album of the film’s soundtrack she recorded two further albums of ballads, Welcome to My Heart, and Torch Time. It is from these two beautiful albums that Flare has drawn this fine collection. Running for almost 79 minutes, the CD features 22 songs by some of the greatest songwriters, with the lush orchestras of Dennis Farnon and Henri Rene. Recorded in full, rich stereo, it is not to be missed.
