Lewis Rae was born in Lerwick the main town of the Shetland Islands, Scotland.

His early acting experience began with the Scottish Youth theatre prior to training at the Arts Educational School in London.

His professional debut was in the West End musical 'Someone Like You' playing the lead role of Andy alongside Petula Clark.

Since then he has had a versatile career as an actor in everything from West End and regional theatre to tv , film, radio and voice overs.

Highlights include lead roles in the TV series ‘Captain Butler’ (Channel 4), the feature film ‘Chasing The Deer and Alan Bennet's adaptation of ‘Wind in The Willows’ at Bristol Old Vic, plus a season at Regents Park Open Air Theatre and numerous tours.

Lewis has played the title roles in several pantomimes throughout the country including Aladdin and Peter Pan and the juvenile lead in David Essex's Robinson Crusoe. He has done several voice overs and can be heard playing the role of Marcus Reid in Arrangements Of War, the BBC Doctor Who Audio Series.

  • Lewis recently appeared in 'Honeymoon From Hell' a funny, touching new musical inspired by 'Private Lives' written by Nigel Fairs and directed by Louise Jameson
  • Lewis had just finished recording the part of "Chan" in SOKATOR 442 an animation for Zoo films to be released later this year.
  • Lewis recently recorded the voice of Commander Faradac in Gallifrey Reborn by Gary Hopkins for Big Finish Productions due out in March this year.
